The Inter-Religious Council of Linn County, Iowa, hereby condemns the actions of President Trump in retweeting anti-Muslim videos to his 44 million Twitter followers. These videos--deceptive and out-of-context--were produced by a far right British group which has been charged in the United Kingdom with "religious aggravated harassment." In the wake of the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Samuel DuBose, Rafael Ramos, Wenjian Liu, and so many others, the board of the Inter-Religious Council of Linn County calls for local religious communities to promote genuine peace through respectful dialogue with law enforcement agencies and communities of color...
