The Inter-Religious Council of Linn County calls for peace in response to the war going on in Ukraine.

We are dismayed at the unprovoked attack on a peaceful, sovereign nation. The Ukrainian people have a right to safety and self-determination.  The fact the so many Europeans are fleeing their homes again is a sober reminder of the trauma of the 20th Century.  We applaud the nations providing shelter and relief to those in need and are encouraged by the unity shown across the free world to condemn the actions of Russia, and especially, Vladimir Putin.

We pray for a swift end to this conflict.

We pray for true freedom and justice for the region.

We pray for Peace.
